Alcohol Ink Painting

Adult Classes | Available

This interactive class builds upon the skills you learned in the previous class or for those that have prior alcohol ink experience. Different materials to work on will be provided for students, like yupo paper, and vellum. Weekly demonstrations will help students to understand how to handle the medium and how to manipulate it to get desired results. Students will learn to further develop their skills using Scotch tape, condensed air, and Stylus dotting tools to create beautiful works of art.

  • $25 supply fee due to instructor at first class for specialty materials

Alcohol inks: color choice and the brand is up to you; however, do not purchase cheap inks as the quality is too poor; I would suggest Pinata or Ranger Tim Holtz brands—I would choose at least 6 different colors.

    91% isopropyl alcohol

    3 needle tip bottles

    Alcohol ink blower

A palette that can hold inks and alcohol

    Paper towels.

You can purchase these items at: Michaels (online), Jerry’s Artarama (online), Dick Blick Art Materials (online), Jackson’s (online), Amazon (online), and many other retailers.

*Inks stain your clothes, and skin, so you need to be dressed appropriately with closed-toed shoes and an apron as this can be a messy process. You may want to bring a mask as using isopropyl alcohol is very strong.
