Stretching & Bottleneck Pour Painting

Adult Classes | Available

This class focuses on stretching a design from the bucket to the canvas and using bottlenecks to create circular designs, which can lead to other geometric-looking and space designs. This does require a steady hand, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll see how easy it becomes. Demonstrations will show how to stretch and move the design to the canvas, as well as how to break the circles or loop of the designs. You do not need prior pour experience, but it is very helpful if you do.

  • $100 fee payable to the instructor at the first class for specialty materials

Keep in mind, you may need more canvases depending on how you work. We work on larger sized canvases: 20” x 20” or 24” x 24”. I would purchase at least 5-6 cradled wood canvases at Michael’s online.

For the first class, purchase a few colors and white. I recommend purchasing Golden Fluid (color is your choice), Master’s Touch (color is your choice), and Amsterdam (color is your choice), and white (brand is your choice). After the first class, you can decide on other colors or brands you might want to use. Other brands suggested are M. Graham, and NOVA.

    Palette knives

    Paper towels

    Painter’s tape

You can purchase these items at: Michaels, Jerry’s Artarama (online), Dick Blick (online), Jackson’s (online), Holbein Artist Materials (online), and many other retailers
