Utilize color theory as you mix and glaze transparent watercolors, creating a wide variety of grey tones. Become more adept at seeing the shapes and values so essential to successful watercolor paintings. Complete a series of monochromatic paintings using your own references or those provided by the instructor.

  • Watercolors - Holbein of Winsor Newton
  • Opera
  • Scarlet lake
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Manganese Blue
  • Indian Yellow
  • Large watercolor palette
  • Large round watercolor brush - suggested- #16 Escoda or #18 or smaller Holbein
  • 1-2" Flat watercolor brush
  • Container for water
  • Paper towels
  • Arches 140 cold press watercolor paper.
  • (full sheets can be cut down into 1/2 and 1/4 sheets)
