Monotype printmaking is simple and rewarding, and the finished artwork is extremely unique. You will gain an understanding of the process that has become one of the most popular printmaking techniques including ink mixing, additive/subtractive applications, stencils/templates, working the “ghost” image, plate and paper registration, and contact or trace monotype.

  • Supply fee of $40 due to instructor on first day for all class materials.
Sugerman, Madeline

Madeline received her formal art training at the Fine Arts Department of Lehman College, City University of New York. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with honors in painting. She continued her education at Endicott College, Beverly, Massachusetts Interior Design Department. Madeline was president of her own interior design firm for over 25 years. Madeline is a member of ASID & is a Registered Interior Designer. Her interior design projects & articles have been published in many magazines, and her work has been seen in several designer show houses. Madeline Sugerman is currently the president of Madeline Sugerman Interior Design. Five years ago Madeline decided to concentrate once again, on her fine arts career. Soon after, she found her new passion, cold wax and has been devoting much of her work to cold wax ever since. wwwmadelinesugerman.com Madeline is a member of Naples Art, where she is an instructor, The United Arts Council of Collier County, The International Encaustic Artists, The Encaustic Art Institute, the Center for the Arts in Bonita Springs, The Alliance for the Arts in Ft. Myers & the Macon Alliance for the Arts in Georgia.Her artwork has been exhibited in shows throughout the country. Madeline’s work “ Continuum C” is part of the permanent collection of the Encaustic Museum of Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her work was included in the “50 States/200 Artists show & catalog in the Museum of Encaustic Art in 2019. Madeline has recently returned from an advanced cold wax workshop in BallyCastle, Ireland. Realizing that encaustic and cold wax art was not receiving the recognition it deserved in Southwest Florida, Madeline decided to start a new chapter of IEA called SWFL WAX located in Southwest Florida and hosted by Naples Art. SWFL WAX is open to all encaustic artists. Madeline’s goal for SWFL WAX is to inspire, promote, and support encaustic artists with meetings, workshops & demonstrations.
