Create unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry using the exciting medium of copper and fine silver metal clays. Learn techniques, textures, and design to style simple, but beautiful jewelry, bales, patina, finishing, findings and firing, both with a kiln and with a torch. When fired the binders burn off and you have beautifully detailed metal pieces! For those with previous experience, we will have more complex pendant and earring projects with the emphasis being on design and perhaps stone setting. Students will go home with at least 4 pendants and 4 pairs of earrings they will be proud to wear or give as gifts.

  • Supply fee of $75 for all materials payable to instructor first day.
Bacon, Lorelle

At the age of 50, I launched my life and career in a new direction as a full- time two denominational artist and instructor. I've enjoyed this challenge tremendously for the past 25 years and counting! There is nothing like witnessing the absolute joy on students’ faces when they see what they have created. I still teach a variety of painting techniques and paint portrait commissions; however, it has become more painful due to arthritis. I discovered making jewelry a few years ago using fine silver, sterling and copper metal clays. Taking wire wrapping workshops helped me learn new skills and refine my processes, enabling me to share this medium with students eager to craft their own unique pieces.
