Wire wrapping is an ancient art form that is very popular today for making unique, fine art jewelry. Students will learn the basics of wire wrap, including what tools are needed and how to use them, what size and kind of wire for the projects, how to make proper wraps, and how to determine the size for their first project. There will be plenty of demonstrations and hands on instructions for students each day. By the end of the workshop, students will have enough confidence in their ability to go home and make pieces on their own!

  • All materials included with $40 supply fee, payable to instructor on first day.
Bacon, Lorelle

At the age of 50, I launched my life and career in a new direction as a full- time two denominational artist and instructor. I've enjoyed this challenge tremendously for the past 25 years and counting! There is nothing like witnessing the absolute joy on students’ faces when they see what they have created. I still teach a variety of painting techniques and paint portrait commissions; however, it has become more painful due to arthritis. I discovered making jewelry a few years ago using fine silver, sterling and copper metal clays. Taking wire wrapping workshops helped me learn new skills and refine my processes, enabling me to share this medium with students eager to craft their own unique pieces.
