Pastel is one of the most versatile of all painting mediums and allows for many corrections and layers to build up to beautiful paintings. Water is an important and beautiful part of much of the landscape around the country. In this workshop, we will learn ways to paint this always interesting subject matter with the dry medium of pastel – it is much easier than it would seem! There will be a few short demonstrations of how to paint different kinds of water such as ocean waves, rocky streams, reflections in quiet ponds. Then students will do a water painting of their choice, working from their own photograph. There will be plenty of personal attention given to each student.
