Create your own collage masterpiece by assembling small paper images into a single portrait of any subject of your choice. It can be your dog, a sea turtle, a butterfly, or anything that inspires you. Please do not choose a human portrait or anything with too much detail. Learn how to transfer a photo of your subject onto your canvas. Then, using many colored and textured images, you will learn how to build a complete collage of your own. This class is offered to students of beginner-advanced creative talent who want to learn a new technique.

  • This class is VIRTUAL. Students will be emailed a link to join the class live prior to its start.
  • Please email me the photo of your subject ONE WEEK before the class begins so I can prepare it according to the size of the canvas you choose. You will need a printer to print what I prepare and email to you. Please send to my email address: mepesek@aol.com

Pesek, Marjorie

Marjorie Pesek created and perfected her unique technique of Layered Imagery for over 28 years. Throughout her career, she has created inspirational works for collectors in Europe and throughout the United States, as well as for Disney World and Warner Brothers. Layered Imagery is Marjorie’s technique where she hand-assembles hundreds of photographic images into a single detailed work of art. Each piece takes several intensive weeks to create, a passionate process of making sense out of chaos. At first glance the portrait appears to be an oil painting until one gets closer to discover hidden images, often those of the subject itself or other beloved pets or family members. The interaction brings a sense of joy and pride to the collector and viewer. The majority of Marjorie’s work are commissioned portraits of people, dogs, cats, horses and landscapes. “Many of my collectors say that to live with an original art piece of mine is to see something different in it each time they look at it.”
