I am interested not only in creating a representational image, but also in the multi-faceted worlds that make up that image: color, texture, materials, techniques, references to literature and popular culture. I draw & paint in acrylics, oils and watercolors and paint murals, collaborate with sculptors, poets, designers, architects, environmentalists and on stage sets. My curiosity about looking beneath the surface, being challenged by collaboration and commitment to art as a vehicle for communication and community informs my artistic practice.
