The focus of this two day workshop is to encourage all levels of artists to create prints using tools that can be used at home. On day one we dive into the energetic method of monotype printmaking. Students will learn about types of ink, paper and tools while creating one-of-a-kind monotype prints. The exploration will be in Mark-making using non-traditional elements such as sticks, fabric, sponges, and stencils just to name a few. This opens up “creative flow” and will serve to set the class up for day two.

On day two the focus will be on woodblock. The class will begin with an introduction to carving tools and how to use them safely. Students will be encouraged to experiment extensively with a large selection of tools and techniques. All steps including transferring an image to the block, types of inks, wood selections, paper and hand printing processes will be covered. Students will produce a small edition of prints on Japanese paper. This is an opportunity for beginners to learn in a non-intimidating relaxed atmosphere and for experienced woodblock printmakers to hone skills and learn new methods

Printmaking has not only introduced me to some of the most interesting courageous artists, it has helped me to open up my creative world to techniques and results I would not have achieved otherwise. I studied Fine Arts at Bucks County Community College with an emphasis on Printmaking. Inspired printmaking requires ongoing learning & diligent attention to changing techniques. Recently I had the privilege of participating in two workshops in non-toxic monotypes led by distinguished printmaker Ron Prokrasso. I studied with Master Printmaker Susan Rostow, founder of Akua Kolor Professional Inks creating monotypes & Dan Weldon using polymer copper plates for intaglio printmaking. I have worked closed with Master Printmaker Sheila Goloborotka. Woodcut, monotype & collagraph methods of printmaking have always been my main creative tools. They are non-toxic & are highly compatible with water based inks and I am sensitive to how we treat our environment. In 2014 I was asked to fill in for someone at the Arts Council of Princeton to teach an Eco-Printing week long camp. After having fallen in love with this process my daughter, Cristin Riccardo, and I now offer our fiber art for purchase & workshops in the area. Notable Shows and Exhibits: Perkins Center for the Arts Juried Works on Paper Show- 2009, Artists of Yardley Annual Group Show at Riverrun Gallery- 2008, 2009*, 2010; Ellarslie Open Annual Show (part of the Trenton Museum)- 2006, 2007, 2009*; 76th Annual Phillips Mill Juried Art Exhibition in 2005; Main Steet Highland Park Annual Fall Show- 2008, 2009*. My husband & I live in Bucks County Pennsylvania where I am inspired by the beautiful landscape filled with peaceful forests & graceful waterways.
