Study the classical approach to painting and drawing. Students learn contour, classical drawing and painting techniques, develop skills in color mixing, spatial relationship and chiaroscuro (light falling on subject matter). Using a mixture of mediums, students study portraiture, still life, landscapes and seascapes by studying the work of the Renaissance Masters.

  • - 1 drawing pad 16" X 20"
  • - 2 - 2b, 3b, and 4b graphite pencils with eraser
  • - 2 soft, medium and hard charcoal pencils
  • - 1 set of watercolor paints Prang 18 color
  • - 9 X 12" watercolor paper pad
  • - 1 sharpie extra fine and 1 sharpie fine black markers
  • - variety of brush sets (synthetic is fine and not expensive) one
  • set of round and one set of flats
  • - 1 set of acrylic or oil paints (basic sets are fine)
  • - 1 turpentine
  • - Canvas board 11" X 14"

Tesmer, Vicky

Celebrated American artist, Vicky Tesmer, is a practicing professional artist from Chicago. Her work can be seen in collections throughout America, Paris, Egypt and Germany. She is represented by Artfully Walls, Anthropologie and has exhibited throughout Chicago. She received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and studied in Versallies, France where she learned techniques of the Renaissance Masters and was classically trained.
