Kroetsch, Leeann

Leeann Kroetsch is a fiber artist who is both inspired and captivated by the magic that happens when she sculpts wool and silk to create clothing, accessories, artwork and jewelry. Leeann draws from a repertoire of felting techniques where she infuses a simple recipe of hot water, soap and agitation to transform fiber into sculptural shapes. Her work is recognized for richly layered texture and unique surface design. She brings an eye for detail and the ability to integrate color into each new piece she designs. The comments most often overheard when viewing Leeann's work relate to her ability to introduce a sense of wonder and intrigue as she engages the viewer of her art work. Her current focus involves deconstructing vintage dresses, and collaging while felting to give new life to these discarded items and create sustainable art with renewed purpose. Over the past few years, Leeann has won numerous awards for her work at high level art festival across Florida including Best of Show in the 2017 Santa Fe College Art Festival, the 2016 SunFest Juried Art Show, and the 2014 Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce Art Festival. Her work may be viewed by appointment and during group exhibitions within Florida.
