Explore the incredible beauty of Alcohol Inks, an intensely vivid and fluid medium that practically paints itself! In this 2-day workshop, participants will learn to paint using the unique medium of alcohol inks on both paper and Yupo. Each student will be encouraged to experiment using various techniques and have fun doing loosely guided projects. The goal is simply to discover a new medium and mindset focused on creating without feeling the need to produce. No previous experience required. Each class will include 3 demonstrations, personal work time and coaching. All supplies are included with the supply fee.

  • A $15 supply fee is due to the instructor on the first day for all materials.

A Bachelor of Fine Arts, Julie Tibus has been professionally selling and showing her work for over 15 years and currently teaches at her own studios in Ann Arbor and Brighton, Michigan. Julie has an insatiable curiosity that leads her to explore emerging mediums with a desire to discover new techniques. Her work draws from an intersection of nature and her own bold expression of it. "My art is centered on exploring natural form, embracing color, and working intuitively. I begin with a loose thought (floral, landscape, color, pattern, shape) then move through the composition with an internal desire to free myself from laboring and instead lose myself completely to the process. I believe we all are creative and through art we can learn how to overcome the fear of comparison, the unknown, and those hard expectations we impose on ourselves. My work is for the viewer to experience, contemplate and enjoy."
