Sephardic Jews - Jews of Mediterranean heritage - have often been the first to migrate to different countries. So it was in Latin America, where the first Jews were living under the restrictions of the Spanish Inquisition.Later generations of Sephardic Jews sought refuge from tyrannies ranging from the Ottoman Empire and the Nazis to Iran. Join Sylvia Gurinsky for a look at how Sephardic Jews have established traditions of community, language, food and heritage in Latin America, but have also faced challenges in preserving them - challenges that have brought many to South Florida.
