We are delighted to be able to continue our collaboration with OSHER ONLINE, an educational service that is offered by our "big sister" the Osher National Resource Center (NRC) at Northwestern University. This class is being run and organized by NRC staff. Sessions are live and will not be recorded.
Many individuals contribute to history but never get their due. Women and other marginalized groups traditionally received less ink in history books than the "great men" of history who were mainly white males. This course looks at 9 women, whose achievements are not commonly known. Among them are a scientist, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, a pioneering pilot, a suffragist, a candidate for US presidency, an activist for women's and African American's rights, a British anthropologist, and a pioneering politician from the Western US.
