2025 marks the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth – it is the perfect time for us to celebrate her work and her life!
Jane Austen drew from her experiences, and the world around her, to create her memorable characters and insightful commentary on social dynamics. Lauren Radick explores her sharp social commentary and distinctive humor, focusing on several of her most famous books.
By embedding her criticisms within the lives of her characters, Jane ensures that her books are as informative as they are enjoyable. Through these works, we will see how she entertainingly and impactfully challenged the cultural standards of her time.
Lauren Radick
Lauren Radick is an adjunct literature instructor for OLLI at FIU. Her background as an early childhood administrator inspires her passion for learning and her lifelong love of reading. Lauren holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Literature from Emerson College and a Master's Degree in Education from The George Washington University.
