The Woman in Gold: Separating Fact from Fiction: Issues of Nazi-Looted Art

1-Time Lecture | Available

Although the tale of the painting of Adele Bloch Bauer I (1907) by Gustav Klimt—better known as “The Woman in Gold”—was made into a Hollywood motion picture, the fascinating truth is even better than the movie!  In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Laura Reich's program will explore various historical and contemporary issues pertaining to Nazi-looted art and its rightful restitution to its owners, including the legal aspects regarding stolen pieces, and shed light on how art and cultural theft persists in the modern world.
