From the Gulf War to the War on Terror, the Arab Spring, and the rise and fall of ISIS, you will analyze the intersection of conflict, diplomacy, and power politics, along with the shifting influence of major players like the U.S., Iran, Russia, China, and Turkey. The course will also examine the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Abraham Accords, and the 2023 Hamas-Israel war, while assessing how the war in Ukraine has impacted Middle Eastern alliances and conflicts. With historical analysis, case studies, and policy discussions, Dr. Daniel Rivera's course provides a comprehensive look at the forces shaping contemporary MENA geopolitics and their implications for the future.
