From the bedroom to the ballot box, the U.S. government has long played a powerful role in shaping the most personal aspects of American life. In this compelling four-part series, Stephen Singer explores the complex history of abortion laws, the criminalization of adultery, the rise and fall of Prohibition, and the long struggle for women’s suffrage. Each session examines how moral values, politics, and public pressure collided to create legislation that blurred the line between public authority and private life. Join Stephen for a thought-provoking look at how personal freedoms have been defined—and redefined—through law.
