This time we are thrilled to welcome back author and journalist Andrew Lawler!
We all know about Lexington and Concord and the start of the American Revolution in 1775 in New England. But 500 miles south, in Virginia, another but very different fight was taking place. Come hear award-winning journalist and author Andrew Lawler unspool this dramatic but largely unknown tale of a Scottish aristocrat making common cause with enslaved people to battle the patriots, pitting two groups of Americans who both sought freedom. Lawler sheds fresh light on how we became a nation--and the unfinished business that still haunts today's headlines.
