Four (4) Tuesdays:  November 18, (no class on November 25 due to the observance of Thanksgiving week), December 2, 9, 16  from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

THEME: Cinema Through a Feminine Lens:  Four (4) films that speak a shared language of female resilience, tenderness, and contradiction. They reveal how modern women negotiate personal desires and social expectations — in work, love, and self-definition. Each story gives voice to a different “accent” of femininity: working mothers, caretakers, lovers, thinkers, and creators. In their distinct ways, they show that the feminine is not one note — it’s a symphony of strength, vulnerability, and self-discovery.

Tuesday, November 18:  I’m Still Here – Brazil – 137 Min.  Based on a true story and honored with over 53 major awards including the Oscar for best international feature film. As Brazil faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship, Eunice Paiva, a mother of five, must reinvent herself and her family when authorities abduct her husband.

Tuesday, December 2: There’s Still Tomorrow – Italy – 118 Min.  Recalling the great films of Italian Neorealism, this moving comedic drama is set in postwar Rome follows a working-class woman who dreams of a better future for herself and her daughter while facing abuse at the hands of her domineering husband. When a mysterious letter arrives, she discovers the courage to change the circumstances.

Tuesday, December 9:  All We Imagine as Light – India – 118 Min.  WINNER OF THE 2025 CANNES GRAND PRIZE. A soulful study of the transformative power of friendship and sisterhood, in all its complexities and richness. The light, the lives, and the textures of contemporary, working-class Mumbai are explored and celebrated through the story of 2 women who room together and work as nurses in a city hospital.

Tuesday, December 16:  Haute Couture – France – 2021 – 100 Min.  In this tale of intergenerational connection and transformation, Esther, the Head Seamstress at Dior is planning on her retirement. When her bag is snatched from her on the metro, it leads to a young woman needing to alter her direction in life, and Esther is just the one to do it.
