This three-session virtual course with Idan Peysachovich examines Jerusalem as the spiritual and cultural center of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Through historical analysis, textual study, and exploration of religious traditions, the course investigates how Jerusalem has functioned as a locus of faith, identity, and political power across centuries. Participants will gain a nuanced understanding of the city’s multifaceted significance, the intersections and divergences of the three Abrahamic religions, and Jerusalem’s enduring influence on religious thought, cultural expression, and global history.

Idan Peysachovich
Idan Peysachovich was born into a Jewish family in the Former Soviet Union, and after the fall of the Iron Curtain, his family made the journey to Israel. Growing up in Israel, he spent a significant portion of his life immersed in its culture and history. His passion lies in exploring and studying diverse cultures, places, and people, and he takes great joy in sharing his knowledge and insights with others. Idan completed his Master's degree at Florida State University, specializing in the study of Religions of Western Antiquity.
He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography and History from Tel Aviv University.
