The Tragedy of the Hungarian Jews (via Zoom)

1-Time Lecture | To register, please call us at: 305-919-5900.

Between May 15 and July 13, 1944, approximately 420,000 Hungarian Jews were deported to Auschwitz, where ninety percent were murdered upon arrival. This talk examines these events within the broader context of World War II, exploring the perspectives of Hungarians, Germans, Soviets, and Americans. We will also cover the warnings given to Hungarian Jews by two escaped Auschwitz prisoners, the controversial decision not to bomb Auschwitz’s gas chambers, and the Auschwitz photo album, which contains iconic images of Hungarian Jewish victims.
