Learn how to make glass pendants using clear and colored borosicilicate glass rods using the flame of a propane-oxygen torch. You'll be introduced to basic techniques as well as the tools and equipment needed to explore flame working.

  • All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made of natural fibers to class. Please wear closed toe shoes. Flameworking generally involves sitting for extended periods and close attention to small detail. Hand and finger dexterity is necessary to turn and hold glass rods and the tools used in the flameworking process.

    This instructor speaks Spanish, but the class is held in English.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Wolf, Janpim

Janpim Wolf is an art educator who graduated with a double major in Photography + Film and Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. She has taught in diverse settings, both locally and internationally, enabling her to immerse herself in different cultures and incorporate these experiences into her teaching. As a lifelong learner, she has continued to expand her horizons, exploring various mediums such as flameworking and digital media arts at the Visual Arts Center and E-textiles at Penland School of Arts and Crafts.
