ONSITE: Hydraulic Forming
Adult Intensive | This class has been canceled
In this class we will learn to safely use the studio's hydraulic press. Using the prefabricated Die forms available in the studio we will press and bring shape and dimension to copper. We will saw out our forms and solder them to a flat sheet or its mirror shape. We will finish this construction into a pendant, or jewelry item of your choice and skill level. Students who have previous experience with these techniques may choose their own projects and be guided through them.
- Students need to have experience using the torch and sawing with a jewelers saw to register for this class. Please wear comfortable clothing. This will be a hands on workshop. Closed toe shoes are required. Feel free to bring any metals or forms you want to try pressing. and your own safety glasses or shield.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
