ONSITE: Introduction to Woodworking: Make a Bandsaw Box

Adult Multi-Week | This class has been canceled

Studens learn to transform rough-cut lumber into a bandsaw box using table saw, planer, router and a variety of hand tools. Bandsaw boxes offer a unique approach to woodworking that allows the maker to break free of the standard right angles associated with the craft. Students will explore the possibilities of this experimental technique by making boxes out of unexpected items and wood that would otherwise need a higher level of material processing,

  • Due to the amount of information learned in each class, it is very helpful to attend every class.

Students should already know how to carve and be ready to work on more advanced skills/ hone in on their craft! Please come to class with your own set of carving tools, the surface you'll be carving into, and ideas! Don't hesitate to contact the instructor for ideas, suggestions, tool lists, etc.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
