Close Reading Workshop: Fiction and Non-fiction

Adult Multi-Week | This class is completed

For writers of fiction or nonfiction! Each week, we will close-read a short story or essay and discuss the craft elements being used (for example: dialogue as story, braided structure, objective correlatives), and then use those elements in our own work. You will either write one longer piece, or several shorter works, your preference.

  • Students will need tools for writing in class, such as laptop/tablet, notebook, pens, etc, as well as internet access to receive assigned reading material outside of class.

This class will not meet on 1/23, 2/27.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
