Learn to machine sew by sewing a tote bag. Students will learn to design and create a pattern for a simple bag of their own. The bag could include pockets, elastic, drawstrings, buttons or zippers. You'll have two finished bags by the end of class!

  • This is an On-site course. Students must follow current CDC + VDH guidance outlined on our website: visarts.org
Young-EL, Nakia

Nakia Young is a creative in almost every area of her life. A graduate of Stevenson university with a Bachelor's in Fashion Design she has worked as a freelance designer, pattern-maker and surface pattern designer in the years since her graduation in 2015. Young has been sewing and designing for over 20 years and also currently works as a paid theater actor.
