Learn to build in the round with borosilicate glass rods on a propane and oxygen fed torch! In this class students will develop 3D forms utilizing the networking technique. These caged structures have the ability to get quite large. We will discuss multiples and drawing with glass, hot and cold seals, as well as design and flow.

  • All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made of natural fibers to class and closed toe shoes (no flip–flops). Work will be ready for pick up at a later date after cooling.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.

Totoritis, Kristi

Totoritis completed her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond,VA majoring in crafts and material studies as well as painting in 2010. She completed a competitive internship residency in 2011 at the Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Studio and has continued to be faculty ever since. Recently Totoritis completed her Masters iof Visual Art with a focus in glass and print media from the Australian National University School of Art. She has studied both nationally and internationally at craft schools including Pilchuck Glass school, Pittsburgh glass Center, The Studio at Corning and Canberra Glassworks.
