This class provides the space to experiment with bringing color into jewelry using the enameling process. Pre-cut shapes will be provided to allow focus to be on the enameling process. Students may bring pre-made copper jewelry-scale pieces. No final piece of jewelry will be made, but students will leave the class with pieces that can be incorporated into their work and the knowledge of how to do so.

  • Due to this being a short class that requires the instructor's full attention at the kiln, no basic metalsmithing skills will be demonstrated during class. Those with a basic knowledge may use other parts of the studio during class time if they would like to make something custom to enamel, but no metalsmithing skills are required to enjoy this class.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
