Some of the world’s best-known writers have adored cats, and that adoration has shown up in their writing. sharing about the influence of their feline friends on their literary We will talk about the influence cats can have on how we approach our creative writing and explore how we can use cats to help us depict mysterious, silly, and fascinating subjects by looking at excerpts from several writers. There will be open conversation, a few brief prompts, and the chance to read aloud and receive supportive feedback. The class will take place on Zoom, giving us the chance to bring our cats on screen to say hello!

Steiner, Samantha

Samantha Steiner is a writer and visual artist interested in the relationships between text and images. A winner of Best Microfiction 2021, she has received fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation, the Saltonstall Foundation, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University and an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She is currently a Ph.D. student in English at the University of Rochester.
