Work with fiber artist Julia Pfaff to personalize a tote bag using easy-peasy low tech fabric printing. We will use stencils, stamps and texture plates to make unique designs. No previous printing experience necessary.

  • Ages 11+ are welcomed, if accompanied by a ticket holding adult.

    Each person participating must register separately for the class. Be sure to sign up ASAP to guarantee your spot and make sure it runs. Some seats may be available the night of, but it is recommended that you sign up early to ensure the class runs. We will confirm or cancel classes by 5pm the Thursday before.

    We do not contact waitlist participants for 2nd Fridays classes; please do not join a waitlist.

Pfaff, Julia

A recent receipt of a Professional Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Art and with an undergraduate degree in art history and a MFA in textiles, Julia has been quilting her entire life. She is a studio artist and has successfully turned a family tradition into a contemporary art form. She teaches at both the community and college level. Julia’s hand dyed and printed quilts have been exhibited extensively and can be found in numerous national publications and collections. During class you can ask her about working in Egypt, Greece, and Jordan as an archaeological technical artist.
