Glass + Metal: Bezel-Set Glass Beads

Adult Multi-Week | FULL

Elevate your flamework glass by making a bezel set glass cabochon pendant! You'll work with Brad Pearson for the first three classes making glass beads and cutting one in half to make a cabochons. You'll then work with Lynalise Woodlief for the following three classes learning how to solder a bezel with oxygen/acytelyne torch and then set one of their glass cabochons in the bezel. Bezel setting a round cabochon is the simplest stone-setting technique and is an excellent introduction to soldering with a torch. The teacher will offer work in progress demonstrations as well as technical tips and tricks—you'll be expertly guided through every step. All tools and materials are provided for the class (including sterling silver plate and wire for your project).

  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
