Learn How to Illustrate a Cat

Adult Multi-Week | Available

Learn how to illustrate a cat in your own style using the basic steps for planning an illustration. The course covers sketching and research techniques, using photo reference, shape language, choosing colors, and finding inspiration. The goal is to have fun along the way, and you'll leave with your very own illustration. It is not required to have a pet cat or even like cats! No previous drawing experience required.

  • Students supply their own drawing materials of choice. Any drawing media okay except oil paint. Suggested media is anything you're comfortable with and easy to pack and clean. iPads with drawing software are okay and encouraged. Class will provide basic paper and pencils otherwise.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
