Woodworking: Make a Cutting Board (Adults and Youth 15+ with a Registered Adult)

Learn the ins and outs of the woodshop by creating a cutting board! In this class, you'll learn safety protocol and the basics of milling. We'll explore introductory use of the jointer, planer, table saw, chop saw, and band saw. At the end, you'll sand and finish your final product!
PLEASE NOTE: This class was originally scheduled to run 12/6 - 12/7 1PM - 6PM and has been moved to 12 /13 - 12/14 3PM - 8PM.
- Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. Mauricio Vargas
Mauricio is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Richmond, Virginia. His work spans a variety of topics, from public art and media theory, to ancestral knowledge and climate justice. Often in dialogue with his Colombian-American heritage, the outcome is a practice that dances between fact and fiction through text, artifacts, and community engagement.
