This workshop teaches the fundamentals of fabric pattern dyeing using an updated method of the ancient Japanese tradition of Shibori (tie-dye). You’ll use fiber reactive dyes to add color to white fabric and a discharge chemical to take color out of previously dyed fabric. This high-energy workshop yields great immediate results. Completed fabrics are perfect for quilting, home decorating, and use in one-of-a-kind wearables. All materials are provided, and participants will get a portion of cotton fabric and two silk scarves to dye.
