Salt printing was a popular photography technique in the mid-1800s. In lieu of using the traditional photo paper we know today, photographers hand coated paper with a salt solution to produce positive prints. Learn about the history and chemistry of salt printing and create your own prints.

  • The instructor will provide negatives for students to use.
  • Students are encouraged to bring your own negatives; a small amount of class time will allow for printing and scanning digital negatives.
  • All other materials are provided.
  • A lunch break will be provided.
  • Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch.
  • Please note that for weekend workshops occurring on both Saturday and Sunday: Saturday classes run from 10 AM - 4 PM, Sunday classes run from 1 - 4 PM.
