Learn how to draw and paint the figure using watercolors. We’ll start with drawing the figure using the Richer 7.5 head proportion system, which is based on anatomical landmarks. You’ll benefit from working from a live model. Then we’ll explore how to manipulate watercolor to create beautiful flesh tones. Plan to study old masters like Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and contemporary masters like Georgia O’Keefe.

Fisher Johnson, Lisa

Lisa received her M.F.A. from the New York Academy of Art, The Graduate School of Figurative Art where she was trained classically in drawing, painting, and sculpture. She is a recipient of the Shelly Bechtel Shepard Master Teacher Award at VisArts. Her commissioned portraits, paintings, and drawings are in collections nationwide, and she has received national awards in recognition of high standards of achievements. She enjoys teaching in the atelier academic tradition.
