Ever wanted to make clothing? Learn to take measurements, follow a pattern, select fabric, sew zippers, create buttonholes, and make adjustments to ensure a proper fit. You’ll learn basic sewing techniques, and we’ll also discuss how to cut and alter patterns.

  • Sewing machines are supplied, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
Stephen, Tesni

Tesni Stephen holds a BFA in Apparel Design from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters of Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has experienced many wonderful jobs in life including being an English teacher in Japan, working in the costume and textiles collection at the Valentine Richmond History Center, working as a teaching artist for Milk River Arts, and even learning the art of millinery with Ignatius Hats in Petersburg, Virginia!
