Poetry is the art of capturing ideas and emotions in a precise arrangement of words. You will learn the basics of composing poems and interpreting the poems of published authors and your classmates in an intimate, supportive environment. Enjoy weekly writing assignments, directed free writing, collaborative exercises, and the close reading of published texts. We’ll look at image, metaphor, line, repetition, and voice.

  • Students should bring something to write with.
