Find a pattern and some yarn, then get started on a knitting project. We’ll cover all of the basic skills, types of yarn and patterns, as well as how to read and follow a pattern. Materials and a collection of patterns will be provided. The class will be run like a friendly knitting circle and students should come to class with an idea of what they want to work on first.

Jan Thomas was born into a family that traveled the world. When she was a young girl living in Morocco, she fell in love with the colorful handmade fabrics - djellaba, caftans, rugs, baskets and other things fiber. She learned to work a drop spindle and knit. She has been spinning on modern wheels, weaving, knitting, natural dying and generally living with fiber under her bed for over 40 years.
