Set ‘fire-in-place’ gemstones in metal clay. You’ll master the techniques needed to set both faceted stones and flat bottomed cabochons three different ways. Take advantage of metal clay’s shrinkage to ‘mechanically’ capture the widest part of the gem, creating a perfectly seated stone. Use skills you already have to develop the design of the project. Inexpensive cubic zirconia stones and metal clay will be available for purchase.

  • (Pre-req: Experience with metal clay) Students should bring a packed lunch.
  • Please note that for weekend workshops occurring on both Saturday and Sunday: Saturday classes run from 10 AM - 4 PM, Sunday classes run from 1 - 4 PM.
