With metal sheet and wire, alter metal surfaces by adding texture, color and three-dimensional forming. Add style to your metalwork by making colorful patinas to combine with artifacts and paper collage. You’ll learn surface texture and embellishment techniques like forming, dapping and folding metal. You’ll also use torches to create patinas and anneal the metal, making it malleable for hammering. Assemble a fabricated metal charm or talisman. Bring your own jewelry components or found objects to add to your work.

  • All materials included. Students may bring small personal or found objects, paper scrap or scrap metal, if inspired.
