Learn the art of reupholstery and give your arm chair a fresh new look. You’ll learn basic safety tips for tools and safe handling of the furniture. Then, you’ll strip the existing fabric and use it to make pattern pieces for the new product. You’ll also learn several different ways that upholstered furniture is finished.

  • Sewing will most likely be involved but is dependent on your particular project. Please bring a chair in good general repair.
  • No class May 28th.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Sutherlin, Antwan

Antwan Sutherlin’s first experience with upholstery was playing with hammers and brass tacks was in his parents’ upholstery shop. He thought it was cool to copy his dad,who was a Master upholsterer for Colonial Williamsburg. Antwan teaches traditional techniques of upholstery using tacks, wooden regulators, curve needles and threads for sewing with a blind-stitch method.
