Learn the tips and techniques necessary to reupholster dining chairs. We’ll also explore how to sew welt cording if needed. You’ll gain the confidence to try larger projects on your own.

  • Please email a picture of your chair to the instructor so she can be sure it is possible to complete in a 6-hour class.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Sutherlin, Antwan

Antwan Sutherlin’s first experience with upholstery was playing with hammers and brass tacks was in his parents’ upholstery shop. He thought it was cool to copy his dad,who was a Master upholsterer for Colonial Williamsburg. Antwan teaches traditional techniques of upholstery using tacks, wooden regulators, curve needles and threads for sewing with a blind-stitch method.
