Explore the world of flameworking and sculpting with glass. You’ll learn basic sculpting and forming techniques for borosilicate glass on the torch and gain an understanding of welds and connections by constructing flowers and other organic forms.

  • All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made of natural fibers to class and closed toe shoes (no flip-flops).
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Totoritis, Kristi

Totoritis completed her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond,VA majoring in crafts and material studies as well as painting in 2010. She completed a competitive internship residency in 2011 at the Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Studio and has continued to be faculty ever since. Recently Totoritis completed her Masters iof Visual Art with a focus in glass and print media from the Australian National University School of Art. She has studied both nationally and internationally at craft schools including Pilchuck Glass school, Pittsburgh glass Center, The Studio at Corning and Canberra Glassworks. Garmezy, Erin

After seeing glassblowing at the Oldway Art Center in Sperryville, Virginia, Erin became enamored with glass as an artistic medium. At 17, she bargained with Oldway owner Eric Kvarnes, trading shop work for studio lessons, and she spent every moment she could in the studio. During high school, she worked as an assistant for Parker Stafford, who helped her create a portfolio for admission to Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. Erin studied glassblowing at VCUarts, earning both a BFA in Craft/Material Studies and a BFA in Art Education in 2007. Erin now works both on the torch and in the hotshop, creating realistic and delicate lifeforms made of glass. She is inspired by the natural world and the never ending cycle of death and growth.
