At the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, high school students ages 15-18 can expand their artistic practice, grow their personal portfolios and prepare for art school. Take an Art League class and get the chance to work in professional studios, alongside working artists.
For dedicated students, we offer a certificate program. Learn more about Art League at visarts.org.
Explore the history of video art. We’ll start in the late 1960s with Bill Viola, then move to present day video artists such as Ryan Trecartin. Students will learn basic video editing techniques and shooting techniques. We’ll experiment with different modes of viewing the art, as an installation, projection, etc. We’ll also cover projection mapping and data moshing.
