Explore the flexibilities of wire and form a foundation for yourself in metal and jewelry. Students will create individual projects while learning wire basics. We’ll discover the strengths and weaknesses of wire, explore its uses, composition and talk about ways to reuse it. We’ll also learn how to make wire move and how to form sculptures, jewelry or abstract art.

  • All materials and equipment provided.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Metzfield, Jeannine

Jeannine’s journey forged a path into metalsmithing in 2002. She has studied Metals at Virginia Commonwealth University, The Visual Arts Center, Arrowmont and Penland School of Crafts. She currently teaches metalsmithing at The Visual Arts Center, as well as to private clients. In her studio she is inspired by the beauty and strength of nature. In her classes she promotes caring for the earth and connection to spirit.
