Explore a host of alternative firing methods including traditional raku, naked and horsehair raku, obvara, pit firing, flash firing and saggar firing. We’ll create vessels primarily on the wheel with an emphasis on form and surfaces which work well with these processes. Each class will include group critiques and an examination of images from contemporary artists.

  • Students should be able to center 4-5 pounds of clay.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Hazelgrove, Lee

Lee has been a studio potter and art educator for 30 years. His work focuses on decorative vessels, wall pieces and platters, often large in scale, created primarily on the wheel. He has exhibited in galleries throughout America and is represented in several museum collections.
