Explore the history of enameling and learn grisaille techniques for applying grayscale imagery to an enameled surface. Students will learn proper handling of tools and equipment for enameling including safe application and clean up of vitreous enamels and enameling kilns. Plan to complete at least two grisaille samples.

  • This class will run 10am-4pm on Saturday and 1-4pm on Sunday.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Dalton, Adriane

Adriane Dalton is a jewelry maker, writer, educator, and independent curator based in Richmond, VA. She currently serves as Editor for Metalsmith and Metalsmith Tech magazines, published by the Society of North American Goldsmiths. She holds an MA in history of decorative arts and design from Parsons The New School for Design (2014) and a BFA in craft and material studies from the University of the Arts (2004). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at the The Denton Arts Council (Denton, TX), Contemporary Craft (Pittsburgh, PA), Wayne Art Center (Wayne, PA), The Snyderman-Works Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), SOFA New York 2011, A CASA Museu de Object Brasileiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil), The Metal Museum (Memphis, TN), and Space 1026 (Philadelphia, PA).
